what a week

Excuse my absence. Apparently I thought it would be a great idea to pack up two little boys on Monday morning and make the four hour trip to see my mom. If you are looking for a way to exhaust yourself, take a road trip without any help. I was so tired the whole time I was there, I didn't really feel like doing anything. Ugh. At least the boys saw their grandma, aunts and uncle. I could tell when we left on Wednesday that they were both equally exhausted. At least they slept almost the whole way home.

We had a nice, long weekend. We spent a lot of time with friends, family and each other. Lovely.
Saturday evening we went to a festival (basically a few bands a lot of people) with some friends. That was a nice way to enjoy the pretty weather. We had pizza for dinner and stayed up late.
We spent Easter morning at church and ate lunch with family in the area. The rest of the afternoon was spent lazily napping and being thankful for our amazing life.

What day is it?

I have sooooo much to do and am soooo far behind. I have a laundry list of gifts to make (yes, I said make) I am obviously way too sure of myself at this point. I have gifts to buy, gifts to wrap, cards to write.
Meanwhile, my husband and oldest troublemaker is playing pirates with the kiddos.

the tree

Last night, after the big guy went to bed, the husband, the oldest child and myself put the tree together. It was lovely. <3

weekends and wishlists

We had a wonderful holiday weekend spending all of it with my husband's lovely family.
There were more babies than a day care and very little quiet to be found, but it was wonderful none-the-less.
We left mid-morning have had the majority of the day at home to relax and recuperate. We will have a few days here and then head back on the road for a wonderful wedding weekend. I feel like the entire month will be spent living out of suitcases, but completely worth while.

I have had several people ask what is on the holiday wish list this year....
so I thought I would provide some pretty eye candy and "perfect" gifts while I mull over my list....

This amazing bag comes with an unbelievable price tag... but yellow is just dreamy. And the best part? It looks nothing like a diaper bag. I would carry this thing 24/7. Ugh. Petunia Pickle Bottom... you outdid yourself.
This comforter is that which dreams are made of.... oh, Anthropologie, how you amaze me.
Equally out of reach in the wallet department, but no less worth pining for. Right?
I will continue to think over realistic Christmas presents. We are going to get our tree one night this week. I am SUPER excited.
This picture was taken last Christmas right after opening presents... I can't believe how tiny this kid looks... or the fact that there are TWO of them this year!
Christmas is getting better and better every year!
Love.

feeling the season

Harry has been amazed by Halloween due to Nick Jr. showing every Halloween episode ever.

So.... we did some decorating. He loves it. Every time he sees the mantel he says "Harry's Halloween party!" Oh, the simple things.

I found this shop on etsy. I bought the pdf file to download and print out the individual triangles then simply sewed them onto some orange and black ribbon. Pretty simple.

I love the glittery crow. I found it at Michaels for about $2.00. The black Halloween sign was all of $.50 and a thrift shop. The fake spider web was another thrifty find.

I am pretty stoked about Halloween this year. Harry is really excited about dressing up like Buzz Lightyear (His choice).... We are going to downtown Hendersonville on the 30th, where all of the shop owners will be dressed up and handing out candy. We will have a blast.
